Air : Moon Safari // Talkie Walkie

I'll review these albums together and separately.
So, Moon Safari is a really Jazzy album with some techno undertones. You may have heard "Sexy Boy" from a movie or two. It's a rather obscure album that some of my wierder friends will no doubt enjoy, unless you hate either jazz or techno. Track by track, it doesn't really feel like a full album, more like some chill tracks spliced together for some wicked awesomeness. I guess that is what you get with electronic acts, when you bring in guest vocalists, it kinda breaks apart the album a bit.

Talkie Walkie also feels similar but is much more unified. Starting off with "Venus" you get a Mellon collie feeling from the sad theme. The albums doesn't get too much more happy or sad, just kind of stays pretty static. The feel of this album is a bit more pop-ish, not saying a lot of people will like this. I just get more of a "Britney Spears on Downers" feel to the entire album. Less jazz, and more pop.

OVERALL: I give Talkie Walkie 4.5/5 and Moon Safari 4/5, Both are very good, but Talkie Walkie really "Talks" to me. (Pun intended)

The thing about Quentin Tarantino

Apart from having a wicked name, Quentin Tarantino (who will further be referred to as Tarantino) is a great film maker. He has successfully taken several great styles of Cinema (Spaghetti Western, Hong Kong Action, Kung Fu) and compressed them into one wild romp of a adventure (Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2).

For those who hated Kill Bill Vol. 1, ask yourself if you are a connoisseur of film. This may lead you to find out whether or not you will really enjoy these two films. Some may call Tarantino a hack because the Pai Mai chapter (Based on The Bride's exploits training with a Kung Fu master) doesn't correspond with the rest of the film (when it comes to general filming techniques). Well, for those of you who think as such, please pull out your dictionary and look up "Homage". This, and the fact the Tarantino is as compassionate about movies as Jesus was about "Whatever Jesus had compassion for" in "The Passion of the Christ".

There you have it, only a real appreciation for classic cinema and/or a slightly twisted sense of joy (I.e Me), can ultimately let you enjoy the work of Tarantino. I'll also be so rude to say that if you didn't like Kill Bill Vol. 1 because it either: offended you, you couldn't stand the gore or you enjoy movies like "2 fast 2 furious". In all cases, you are a pussy.

The Truth about the Cancelled Dance

So the teachers will tell you that the dance got cancelled because of a "lack of adult supervision" however, that is a load of bullshit.

The truth is, we got railroaded by a mean-spirited, Nazi sympathizer, spiteful bitch of an administrator. Originally the school was to have a joint-dance with Bert Church High School. The Student Council at Bert Church didn't get back to us, so we had to work together a make-up dance since it's only fair to dish out a dance for May.

Without a lot of time, we acted fast and pounced on the dance without delay.... Or so we thought.
Apparently, the Spiteful bitch (I hope you know who I am referring to) claims we never got the date for the dance approved. Now I can't vouch 100% for the actions of my fellow Student Reps., but they offered to get the dance approved, and they reported back to me that is was in fact a success.

So, while Student Council ran around getting things done, Admin waited will a few days before the dance and proceeded with royally shafting us.

The Origin of "Piss Fingers"

This is the tale of a guy named Curtis, he is a great guy. AWESOME, if you will allow me to used that adjective. Who happens to be named "Piss Fingers", not a lot of people call him this name, but if you heard it called in the halls, you'd probally be confused.

So, the story goes like this....

One day long ago, I was at Kevin's house meeting a greeting with some friends of mine. During said meet and greet, a dog ran down the stairs and commenced pissing directly on the floor. This made me and my esteemed associate (Kristy) laugh, yet one lad, who we assumed seen it happen didn't laugh at all. Rather, he grabbed some paper towel and began sopping up all the piss with the towel.

Well, anyone with a 5th grade education would know that some of the piss soaked through the paper towel, and onto the lad's fingers. However, this lad didn't realize the piss was in fact piss. He merely thought someone had spilt Dr. Pepper, and did his duty as a good friend of Kevin's and used his fingers (and paper towel) to clean the piss up.

All and all, I approve and regard Curtis for his actions of cleanliness, however I still call him piss fingers to this day.
