Still an Asshole
So Saturday was the super huge Halloween throw down for the bars in town. Some went to Spin and some went to The Roadhouse. All had fun, I think...
I saw some pretty cool costumes, and almost everyone put some effort into making something cool. Some notable costumes...:
1. Homestar Runner was one of the largest and coolest costumes I saw all night. So much originality was put into this costume and probaly more time and effort. This guy probaly would've won the best dressed contest had he stuck around.
2. The Top Gun Pilots decked themselves out in Airforce trainee outfits, vinyled their code names on the backs of their suits and wore aviator sunglasses. All 'n all they looked great.
3. Napoleon Dynamite was a funny costume. At least I thought he was going for Napoleon Dynamite. The guy had a curly blonde wig on, almost afro, a sweatband on his head, and short shorts with high socks on. It was great and something that wasn't over the top.
Some disappointing costumes... ICP/Slipknot/Mudvayne knockoffs. I don't like these at all as they usually involve people just painting poorly thought out designs on their faces and wearing overalls. I personally have nothing against these bands, but I'm personally sick of the costumes. Another one is the "Creepy girl in blue wig who sexually harassed me". I think this is overall a bad costume as it kind of hurts. Note to any possible girls that think I am cute: Violently grabbing my ass is not the way to my heart, I bruise easily.
Anyways, I had lots of fun (The hard-work type of fun)and hope everyone who came out did as well.
Fuck computers
I just wrote a long ass post about halloween and it got lost since my damn browser crashed. Now you must all wait till I get bored enough again to post.
Give my regards to Burbank...California

St. Louis, we hardly knew ye
With the Cardinals buried, the Boston RedSox have finally lifted the curse of the Bambino. I'm happy! Boston is Happy! Hurray!
Usually I don't care about baseball, and I still don't really care. However, playoff baseball makes me excited. Maybe it's because each team plays over 100 games, and I could never follow that many games, or maybe it because there is just too much to learn about the game, but I think regular season baseball is boring (Maybe it's because my TV is only good for watching DVDs too).
Anyways, that didn't make a lot of sense and I'm tired.
BoSox World Series, New England Pats Superbowl, Kerry President
I think Mass. will be one happy state if they play their cards right. (Sorry, bad joke)

Completely radtastic T-shirts + halloween
Threadless T-Shirts is a website that I just stumbled on somehow, (I'll give some respect when I remember) and I am amazed and in love with the T-shirts that are for sale.
In fact, I love them so much I actually stole the tape graphic from one of the Tshirts accidentally and used it in my banner. What the hell was I thinking? Well, I'm not going to take it down, I'll just give credit where credit is due and hope I don't get sued.
Halloween is in a few days and I hope non of you think you are too old to celebrate in the festivities. Unless your church will crucify you for celebrating in the name of Satan, I hope you will all revel in the halloween havoc. I personally have to work, so I will be at Spin Nightclub in Lethbridge dressed up and having a good time. It's a 3 day event, so I'm going to whip up 3 different costumes for triple fun!!!!!
Here is a picture I drew for all of you

Attack of the Brits
I'm not trying to offend anyone (especially my British friends) but we had quite a run in with some British blokes at work last night.
Seems some english chaps got some leave from a military base nearby (Not sure where) and so about 30 of them decided to come down to the club. Good fun for all right right? Well, not really, since these Brits were overly stereotypical.
They came, they drank, they didn't tip, then they faught. All in all, we kicked out probally all 30 of them before the night was as well as all the people who fought with them. It was pretty ridiculous to see, all these guys scrapping like retards over stuid and trivial things all night long. Then taking the fights outside and injuring members of our security team in the process.
To top it all off, when we complained to the police, all the officer did was scoff and ask if the Manager had been drinking. Now instead of drunken bar patrons being kicked out of our club for rowdiness, we may face charges for trying to break up fights.
Anyways, this caused me to have a dream about going to the bar. Me and my friends from Airdrie all were at the bar and got in a fight with some ruffians for one reason or another. A gun was pulled and my friend Matt got shot in the chest. We tried and tried to get the cops/ambulance to come, however there was just a lot of bleeding on the street. When that dream was done I had a dream that John Kerry came to Canada and everyone loved him, when infact "Alberta" (Ralph) seems to loathe him in a lot of cases.
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend, and everyone has a good time.

A post dedicated to Friday
So I'm balls deep in mid-terms right now and it really isn't fun. However you don't care about that at all.
What you do care about is the University of Lethbridge's production of "Nothing Sacred". The funny, yet heartbreaking story of love, hate and alcohol in the Russian heartland.
I found the play to be very enjoyable, and think that everyone with 9 dollars and 2.75 hours to blow should go enjoy it.
Well, that's about all I have to mention right now, since I'm not really up for posting right now.

News!!!
I thought I'd take a moment to post about some interesting news stories.....
Bandit killed after 30 years on run
This story tells the tale of a tragic end to a larger than life bandit. The sixty year old kidnapper, smuggler and murderer was shot down in a terrible gun battle recently. Apparently this is one of India's most famous and feared criminals and the Indian government's most expensive attempts to capture him since 1990 have only come to fruitation now.
NDP political legend T.C. Douglas, hockey star Wayne Gretzky, TV sports personality Don Cherry, founding prime minister Sir John A. MacDonald, one-legged runner Terry Fox, medical pioneer Dr. Frederick Banting, prime minister and Nobel peace prize winner Lester Pearson, telephone inventor Alexander Graham Bell, TV science host and environmentalist Dr. David Suzuki and, former PM Pierre Trudeau are named as the top 10 Canadians. The vote which was initialized by CBC has been narrowed down from 50 people recently on their new show "The Greatest Canadian". Source. Personally, I find that to be quite a list and I can't think of any others that would fit that list as well as those do. Sadly no women were on the top 10 list, even though I am sure some deserve it. (Did everyone forget those "Part of our heritage" clips?)
Does the gradient look better now???

The world has turned and left me here brushing off my shoulders...
I have to direct everyone to the website featuring The Black and Blue Album. This is some really interesting stuff. This "DJ" remixed The Black album from Jay-Z with Weezer's Blue Album into something that I hard to talk about without snickering.
Check this out for sure.

A post for Thursday
Well today is Thursday, and that means tommorow is Friday. Luckily my Japanese class tommorow is cancelled, so that means I get to chill out and sleep.
I made a really good meal today, consisting of a fake-chicken burger, hashbrowns and milk! It was very easy to make and super tasty.
Sadly, I have to go to work in 1.5 hours, I haven't been in like a week and a half, so it is really wierd having to go again. I really hope nothing has changed, as I cannot stand when I have a task to do that has changed drastically in my absense, and looking like an idiot as I fumble around with the new tasks at hand.
Well, whatever. Hopefully I will be able to get a job somewhere on the side of town that isn't segregated by a huge hill.
Later days,.....

Post-Mortem Shenanigans
My good pal Brian wrote a wonderful article for English on the topic of "Night of the living dead". Comparing remakes Vs. the original, which sparks some interesting ideas.
[From the paper]
The original, "Night of the Living Dead" shocked audiences with its brutal, unexpected ending and revitalized the horror filmmaking industry. The remake version of the movie ending is an embarrassment in its efforts to horrify the audience and insulting to the genre in its attempt to teach a lesson. After seeing the remake version, my opinion is "why fix what isn't broken?"
He brings up excellent points about how a good horror movie doesn't need any real message behind it and zombies are just cool!
You can view the entire paper in all it's glory HERE however I warn you that the paper will ruin the ending of both films.

An open apology to everyone I've offended since my conception (Nov. 1985ish)
[Edit: This is a response to a very angry comment I recieved regarding my last post. I said in that post that I was glad I wasn't back in Airdrie and was in school. I was mostly reffering to the types of people that used to be my friends that have dropped out of school for bad reasons or people dealing drugs. I'm not saying that all drug dealers are terrible people, nor am I saying I think all my old friends from Airdrie are deadbeats. I was saying that I really like my situation a lot better than having to deal with dead-beat drug addicts.] [Again, I apologize this wasn't clear before]
I was referring to the friends I have that are now Drug dealers........ I guess it wasn't worded with the precision that I would have liked and I apologize if I offended people that are making a good living doing hard labour. I know a few of my friends are having a good time at trades.
I'm not sure why you brought up me and underage girls. I haven't met any girls around here that aren't over the age of 18, and I hope you haven't gotten the wrong idea about the way I deal with sexual encounters. I'm really not sure why you are so mad, I just started blogging to share my experiences and speak my mind a bit. I don't claim to be cooler than other people, I just have some fun pretending to be a suave pipe smoking pirate.
So to recap:
I apologize to everyone who I offended because I:
-Insulted your life choices
-Made out with you (I've only kissed one underage girl since I've turned 18 just to clear that up, she was 17)
-Smoked my pipe in your presence
-Claimed to be cooler than you
-Claimed to be more underground than you
-Created a catch phrase that you were unimpressed by
-Made a cynical apology list
But seriously, I'm not in this to make you people feel like shit, if you are a personal friend and you've got some problems with how I roll, I will totally be happy to talk it out with you. I mean really talk, I promise not to subject you to any mormonesque making out.
[Edit #2: Someone mentioned that commenting doesn't work for them, so I'll post the mean comment here as well:
Wow… you're right… you are SO much better than your friends… come to think of it… you are better than anyone!!! go you! afterall, people are not worthy of living if they don't take a year off of school to have fun, how dare they?! they should be killed!!!! Is there a nice selection of underaged girls at college for you to "Fuck" with? if so thats what you should be giving thanks for… pseudo-rape and pseudo-pillage… i say "fuck" because its not like you actually fuck them, more like target them for a mormonesque make-out session. Please, never forget that you are better than everyone and that you are so underground that everyone should bow down to you and your pipesmoking ways. Go create some catch-phrases you fucking bastard and let us all know them by telling us over your SUPER-COOL BLOG!@!!!!111111 OMG!1111! LEOLAZ!!@@@!!! fuck you.]

Of holiday's that destroyed lives
Trekking around the province for award ceremonies is one thing, but making the same trip once more for "Thanksgiving" (which is being thankful that there were natives to rape, pillage and destroy when the Europeans landed in the new world), is ridiculous.
Yes yes, my mother convinced me to come on Thursday night for "Awards" night (where I won a scholarship and a certificate) all the way back to Airdrie, then back to Lethbridge. Only to have to drive back to Airdrie for Thanksgiving, which totally licks.
School is doing pretty well, especially when I compare what I've been doing to the pitiful after-highschool goings on that I see when I visit some of my old friends. While I really shouldn't judge the way they've decided to live their lives, I'm just super glad that my options aren't limited to hard labour.
Well anyhow, I'm being a lot more social and making friends by the barrel full!
Not really, but I'm having fun just migling with people in the halls and generally just having a good time.
Have a good holiday weekend, unless you're and American like Einars and Chris......

Bad pictures of The Alexisonfire Concert
We went up north to Calgary to take in the Alexisonfire show, and here are the pictures!!!! Alexisonfire in all it's burning glory
Look at the bottom pic, isn't Kristy one hardcore mother-fucker? She got tagged by those jerk ass security guards for crowd surfing. Go her! Go Alexisonfire! Go everyone who came out and had some fun with the Band!!!!
(Doesn't it look like the band members are so hot they are on fire with the burning passion of music?)

Just another post
Hey folks, how are ya'll doing?
Really? That is fantastic, I've been good too. I saw Alexisonfire on Sunday night, and I had soo much fun. I've got some pictures I will post once I find my digital camera and I don't have to study for a Music test.
I was noticing a steady uprising of visitors to the blog and I decided to check out who was coming from where. Although a lot of the people were linking from online forums, via my signature, today there were a few direct hits and a few that surprised me. First off, I noticed someone was using the Sun OS. I personally know zero about this OS, but I think it has something to do with Linux maybe . If you are using Sun OS or something like that, make a brief comment about it in the comment field. I also got a Mac OSX hit that wasn't my own, which I don't get a lot of. Mostly I just get WinXP running IE 6.0, but I was happy to see OSX running Safari.
On that topic, I really suggest people looking into using a browser such as Firefox as it kicks ass. Tabbed browsing, pop-up blocker, download manager, it is just a really great browser that works like a browser should.
Anywho, I'll stop being a nerd...

Calling all bored internetters
Ok, think of 3 things you want to see me take a picture of..... anything you'd think would be in my house, at school or around my nieghbourhood. Post what you want in the comment section and I will try and make an entire post of those things. I will mark you up with credit if your picture gets chosen.
Kings, Hobos, and Hobo-Kings
Here I sit, in my 2 year old Du-plex, after returning from my 2000 dollar per semester university, infront of my 2000 dollar laptop, surrounded by a 2 hundred dollar audio system. Eating, 40 cents worth of food......
Yes yes, I'm sure some of us have run into this before... The luxurious audio, the library of music, the beast of a computer, but plain macaroni with salt and pepper on it :P
So is it just me, or are there others out there with tricked out systems, but things like bills, schooling and food have made them Hobos living in the shoes of Kings?
(note: I am infact eating plain macaroni with margarine and S+P, and it is very good oddly enough)
