Friday, April 29, 2005Fuck Final ExamsOk, so I am finally done an entire year of University! FUCK YEAH. Sorry to use such profane language, but I feel it is necessary to get my point across. It feels so wonderful to be done for 4 months. Now all I really have to do is find a job or two, and make money for tuition for next year! There has been some mad partying here over the past week or so. Somehow a party broke out here on Sunday, which was weird because we rarely invite people over to get loaded. I began drinking around 5 pm just because I had no school on Monday, and that was a great feeling. I can't really count how many more people came over, but it seemed like a lot. Wednesday broke out as I was sitting in front of my iBook around 11 pm, and people broke into my room and announced it was time to party. About 10 people showed up out of nowhere, and a party was officially started. Adrew WK would be proud. Sadly, such hard partying and late night pizza broke out into some terrible puking. I won't name names specifically, but I think less than 50% of the puke got in the bathroom, and 25% actually went into the toilet. Regardless of overall disgustingness, our house is considering a new rule for drinking: If you puke in something other than a toilet or garbage can. You owe the house a 6 pack. Heed this warning! Saturday, April 23, 2005You are mocking my professionSo after work (around 3:30 am) I went over to visit my pals Steve and Booster. Who live in Airdrie and I rarely see. So they gave me some beers and convinced me to drink them. I decided that since the two of them were already pretty drunk, that I'd catch up to them by shot gunning a few. Well, I shot-gunned 3 beers and fell asleep in the burlap palace, but not before Booster made me listen to an hour or so worth of club music. In the morning, everyone decided to go to Humpty's for breakfast. I realized that it was the only time I've ever been there after 6 am. Kelley, the wonderfully hilarious feminist decided that calling the "Cowboy Breakfast" the "Cowboy Breakfast" was sexist, since they added "For Cowgirls and little Cowboys, we can make it 'one size smaller'". This upset her and she decided that she would order it and eat every single bite. Sadly, she could not finish her meal, since it was more meat and eggs than I have ever seen in a restaurant. My friend Einars' parents discovered his blog recently and something kind of funny happened. They got upset with him because he never blogs about studying, and assumes he never does it. I got thinking what would happen if my parents found my blog, and I decided that it is better not to think about it since I doubt they can really surf the 'net all that well. Anyways, I'm going to write a review for the new "Hot Hot Heat" album pretty soon, as well I am going to keep listening to music, until I have reached a level where I breathe in harmonic rhythms. Wednesday, April 20, 2005Hey, Pope Benny!![]() New Pope, new attitude. This image will be randomly generated each time you refresh this page. Sunday, April 17, 2005Wednesday's DeadThis week has been crawling by as my last day of classes is on monday. I have to have all my art projects handed in on monday, and finish up the ones I haven't finished yet. Which will be a stupid pain, as I didn't do them because I felt they were annoyingly hard. Stupid art.. I hate you... I can't think of anything to blog about really... Except I did some bartending last night, and it was pretty fun. It's not very hard, since people usually just order Rye and cokes, but every once in awhile people throw a curve ball and it is fun mixing the drink for them. Anyways, go read something interesting on the internet, It's not that hard if you look somewhere other than here. Wednesday, April 13, 2005Annoying KidSo one of my roommates woke up this afternoon, and said something incoherent, then went into the shower. I couldn't understand what was said, but it was completely not english, and in a deep and angry voice. The shower has been running ever since and it's been like 20 minutes. I need to do my hair and I have class soon... are we made of water? Well.. I guess we are made of 70% water... but whatever, it's annoying. Class is sooo close to being over and I am so pumped up for not doing shit for awhile. Hopefully, I'll be playing videogames and working all summer. Jade Empire looks good, and hopefully I can get myself a job at one of the call centres in town. Working all day, playing all night. Alternatively I could get a serving position at a restaraunt like Earls, or a bartending position at a club. That way I would work at night making sweet cash with tips and stuff, while being able to take a summer photography course. Then again, I could always push myself to the limit and try and work a full time job at a call centre and a part time job at night. Anyways, I hope to see most of my Atown boys and girls this summer. I will no doubt come down for some partying, as long as there is partying. I did enough sitting around in Airdrie through highschool to take off work to do it in Airdrie. Anyways, I'm out of this bitch. ~Jaron W. Sunday, April 10, 2005Hollaback Girl?Ok, so Death From Above 1979 on Thursday was probably the best show I've been to so far. The stage presence, the energy, the instrumentation of Jesse on his Bass guitar and Sebastien on the Drums, all extremely stunning. My new Pal John Pbone came for the lonesome ride up to Calgary, and luckily enough he got into the (sold out) show for free. Watch back for pictures, I didn't take any as my camera has no batteries, but Brayden took some pictures before he got thrown out, and then some more when he snuck back in, so I'll host those here for your viewing pleasure. SO lately I've been really into electronic dance music like M83. I've been down with rave type music for awhile (trance I think it might be called) but just lately have I gotten into the more obscure stuff, like Montag, M.I.A, Ladytron and M83 of course. If you get a chance, really google some of these bands, because they are really fun to dance/listen to. I think dancing is really important, maybe because I now work at a club, or because my cultural heritage is a very dance based people. Regardless, if you want to listen to party/club/dance music, try and give those 4 bands a search, as they are fun, not boring, and a little more in depth that 50 cent's magnificently emotional opus "Candyshop". Check all of you people later, I've got some dancing to do. Thursday, April 07, 2005The Softest Bullet ever ShotOk, so my last update was a long time ago, because I honestly had nothing to talk about. However, I now have a little time before I have to go to school, and I thought I'd drop an update on you guys. I'm going to see Death From Above 1979 tonight at the Warehouse in Calgary. They are playing with Controller.Controller and I am pumped for the show. There are a bunch of New Media kids coming up with us, so I am excited to rock out with those blokes all night. So in conclusion, if you need to find me tonight, I'll be in Calgary. Other news, I'm not doing so great in Geography. Well I am passing, but I really wish I was doing better because I want a better GPA. The class seems easy at first, the profs. seem to teach pretty well, however whenever I get to the test, I mostly choke. I'm going to have to buckle down for the final, as I want to bring my mark up. It'll be hard, but I think I will be able to do it. My pal spencer sent me this link: http://www.pepsi.co.jp/campaign/nintendo/cap.html It's really sad how awesome some things in Japan are, that we never get to experience. I mean, these look better than those silly Mario 3 McDonalds toys, and those were pretty cool. I really want to go back to Japan soon, I miss it's culture, metropolis, and polite strangers.... Someday I'll go back, if not for a month, I'll go back. (A month being the shortest time I'd ever go back for) Also I found A pepsi-twist coloured Nintendo DS Saturday, April 02, 2005Friday night Lawn BowlingFriday night was the much anticipated, Porn Star party. A 5 dollar kegger that went off like a rocket filled with bad pornstar costume and beer fueled debauchery. I tried to take pictures of everything, but the conditions were cramped, and I was having too much fun to capture everything I wanted to. Here are the pictures New Reviews Up at LBS recordsA review of M83's newest album, as well as Beck's Guero is available at http://www.Lifebystereo.com/records April FoolsI didn't feel like doing anything extravagent for april fools day, so I simply just took the entire webpage from you. I got really drunk in the evening so I didn't get a chance to fix it for today. Sorry about that, I'll update in an hour or two with some pictures from the party. |
