New Television

I got a new television from my Grandmother, and other than some vertical scrolling (there are 2 faded bars that lightly move straight up the screen endlessly) although the picture is so nice and big and colourful compared to the older one. I am rewatching most of the movie I own and I am remembering what it is like to watch a good DVD, on a good TV, with good sound. I know it's vain, but I am blissful right now.

I'm learning to play the guitar, and for one day of strumming and dicking around I am doing pretty good. I have to exercise my fingers, since they are a bit stiff from a lot of typing and cracking of my knuckles. I think I got "C" down, I'm one third the way to writing a "Ramones" song.

I biffed my digital camera at a party and now it won't turn on. I am really sad because that day I took some sweet pictures, and now they are trapped on my digital camera until I either get it repaired (probably not because it is a super-low end Samsung), or just get a SD card reader. That'll still leave me without a digital camera, so I think I am going to drum up some funds for a new digital camera, maybe a DSLR since I have some nice lenses already, and I want control that I just can't get with crappy "point and shoot" cameras.

Anyways, I have some Macaroni to make.

SICK

Not in some hip-hop way, but physically ill, which is strange for me since I am usually stricken with a terribly clean bill of health. Some how eating potato salad and being in the sun for like six hours without a hat apparently makes you very ill.

I had to go home early from work, because I didn't think "Thank you for calling.. "BLAARGHH" (barf sound) have a nice day" was a good way to end a call.

I updated the look and feel of the site a little, the water was annoying me and I had some free time and some photoshopping skills.

Waking up at 6 am

Waking up at six am is actually kind of fun. Before most of the other people are even considering getting up on a Saturday, you rebel against logic and your body's clock to venture out of the house to take on adventures that can only be undertaken at wee hours of the morning.

The strange thing is, us in our teens and mid/early twenties seem to take a lot of pleasure in sleeping far past the morn and into the noon. Yet, older people, my parents and grandparents included, seem to relish in waking up early to make the most of the day.

I think the new generation has a new outlook. Getting the most out of the night seems to be the new black. Instead of toiling away in the hot sun of the mid-day, we scamper about in the night, where it is cool and sometimes moist. The night is ours, and I love it.

Once upon a time, everything that you needed to do was in the morning/afternoon. Being at the bank bright and early was essential as the hours are silly and best. Now with the internet, our shopping, banking, and even social interaction can be done on a 24 hour basis. Why should we wake up before the rising of the sun to partake in the extremely hot and long hours of the day? In the days before electricity we needed to do everything by daylight.

My suggestions for all of you youth sick of working in the hot sun. Rebel against the proletariate of the non nocturnals, and let's work on a generation that begins after 10 am.

Vampire Orthodontics

The shitty cookware in my house is making me insane. Firstly, we have too many steak knives, and I never eat steak, or any food that would really need a steak knife, so they are always in the way.

Secondly, the pan I got around this time last year, which I used at every chance I got, broke while I was about to clean it. It was very hot and I burnt my self something viscous. I feel like I have been spending too much time talking with Americans, because I want to sue real bad. Thermodynamics, the pan makers, my parents for buying it for me, ETC.

I got a PSP the other day, and some Tattoos. Chris from Minidisc.org Forums bought me the PSP for all my hard work over at the forum as a keeper of the peace. Mostly he's just really awesome and makes mad money from Google Ads, so he can afford to lavish me with such gifts.

My tattoos look really cool (in my mind) but my digital camera has no batteries, so I can't show you any pictures of them. You must come to Lethbridge to see them, or you can just wait a day or so.

dub

Not too sure what "dub" is, except it looks really cool when written in lowercase, but DUB or Dub doesn't look as good.

I saw a dub poet with Martine tonight, it was really cool because of how positive and spiritual the poet and his djembe playing comrade were. If you get some time, hit up the "Tounge N' Groove" in Lethbridge Alberta, Tuesday August 23 for some really good times. Michael St. George and Wes Kidd was their name, traditional Jamaican/Canadian roots music is their game. It really reminded of me how the people who saw Bob Marley and the Wailers before it was really "it" to "Stir it up" or go "jammin'".

I also picked up Michael St.George's CD, and it is a combination of soulful poetry, and reggae stuff. So I think that dub is reggae without words, and a dub poet is an artist that just says poetry to dub.

Hypocriteria

As school swiftly approaches, so does the end of summer. I know we all hate it, except the winter jacket industry, however we just have to face it.

Soon, the days will be getting shorter, the nights colder, and the times, mellower. I really don't like winter, except for how dark and calm it always seems to be. Riding the bus with my headphones on, listening to some "chill" tracks (pardon the pun) is really relaxing. I sort of like the cold, when it is combined with a little heat, just to give that "Ice Cream and Fresh Pie" feeling.

Some Music I listened to a lot of last Fall/Winter:

Sasha - Involver (Cool techno stuff that Einars told me to listen to, so I did. Very sleepy and chill, yet almost dancable.)

Bob Marley - [everything I could get my hands on] (Really awesome, because it's chill, and it reminds me of better weather, for when I get too cold)

Broken Social Scene - Feel Good Lost
Valley of the Giants - Valley of the Giants (Both of those albums were pretty sweet in the summer, but I think they are worth mentioning because they both lasted into
the winter. Also, they both sounds really good, so they were an extra pleasure)

THIS Mix by Einars (it is really poppy and fun, and got me up when I was down. The winter can get depressing, so instead of tanning like "Normal" people do, I listened to sweet beats.

Bjork - Medulla (This album is so strange and I got it at the beggining of the last school year. It makes me happy and accompanied me on my 20 hour roadtrip on a bus to Manitoba.)

That's all I can really think of right now, however I'm strangely excited for the fall, that is, if I can get a new bike.

Internet, Gasoline, Cola float

I thought I'd pump out a quick post for no reason.

I've got 3 days off from work and good times and rest are being had by all. I feel super bad, since I haven't been able to finish Resident Evil 4. It's sad because it feels like I forgot to read the ending of a book.

Better post next time.

Ginger Beer

I should be cleaning my room right now, but I've decided to be distracted.

I thought I should mention the "Random Thoughts" section of my blog now. Mostly it is just random quotes and inside jokes from my days. I'll try and mix it up and make it amusing to read through, however I mostly just got a LiveJournal account so I could read "Private" Ljs. However, I hope you will chuckle in amusment with my tomfoolery.

Work was late tonight, and kind of funny, because everyone in Illinois playing online videogames got booted off for like 5 minutes, causing our call volume to shoot through the roof.

Anywas, you don't care, I thought it was just funny hearing "I was playing World of Warcraft when......"

I suck at life

I was at the Radio Station late last night bugging Martine while she was doing her radioshow, and I locked my keys in the station! Not being able to get them till morning, we just went to Denny's, late, to celebrate someone's 6-month anniversary with them (Dino and his girlfriend's if anyone knows them). That was cool, as it didn't take long to warm up to the people as they were very nice.

I drank a coke, which I've been trying to stop, since coke is really bad for your stomach, and it always makes me sick. However, I almost died while driving with Martine, who is wonderful in all ways except driving. Still pretty good, but is a little rusty in unfamiliar areas. She is very special, so I forgive her.

In the wake of forgetting my keys, I got to sleep at Kent's house. We chatted a bit, but didn't get anywhere as he is doped up on back pain medicine, since he hurt his neck, doing manly things. Somehow I got covered in cat hair from the ass-faced cat "Turbo". I am very upset with him now, as I usually am, but now my hoody is covered in hair.

I slept rather soundly, considering I was fully clothed and wearing flip-flops, woke up and ate some froot-loops, while watching a show call "I do... Let's Eat". This show is very interesting as it's about wedding meals. I like cooking, and you probably didn't know that.

The crazy thing about the show is how much the family spent on wedding meal alone. They had lobster, like 4 fresh roasted pigs, and SHARKFIN SOUP. Not even joking, each sharkfin costs $30,000, luckily each one makes 1000 bowls that they sell for 80 dollars each. Not so lucky for the shark, however the main cook held enough sharkfin to trade in for a BMW.

Luckily, Stacey (If you don't know her, you will) gave me a ride to the uni, and my car hadn't been towed or broken into, so I was happy. I drove home and now am here, writing in my blog like a fool. Retelling one of the funnest nights I can remember, and nothing really even happened.

Well, I must get ready for my radioshow, then work. Have fun on this wonderful Saturday night.

Love, BananaBoi

Operator? Give me New York city

I'm watching Citizen Kane, it's great. Black and White talkies are sweet. Light and shadow really rock the body. Unless you are trying to figure out if you should stop or go at an intersection.

I met this girl named Martine, she's really cool and we went for a drive the other day and listened to Nick Drake and other chill tracks all night. It's was very cool and so we decided to go to the Casino with the homeboys from my band (Kenny and Kent). It was a good time and I only ended up losing 5 bucks. Combine that with a Heineken and it was a very good night. I hit Red 4 playing roulette, that would've made me over 30 dollars had I made the bet I intended.

Good times, indeed. We then watched "The Breakfast Club" and had a great time there after. We are now going to Denny's for a late night rendevous.

Anyways, that is my life.

Late Night Tales

It took like 90 years for me to get it, but I finally picked up "Late Night Tales" which is a mix CD compiled and mixed by the Flaming Lips. They also added a sweet cover of "Seven Nation Army" on the CD, which makes all the wait and money spent totally worth it.

If you get a chance to buy/download it, the latter I don't recommend since it is a mix CD which will be filled with gaps instead of nice seamless CD quality goodness. So buy it, or maybe get someone to burn it for you, since it is expensive, and maybe not worth it unless you are a mix CD nerd like me.

If you downloaded my newest mix, send me some feedback on it. I really want to know how people like it. This pretty girl named Martine, just informed me it was really good, but she might just be being nice to me.

P.s Einars' website is DOWN! You probably don't care, but I sure do.

I really like dancing

This week... what can I say... has been pretty nothing. Which is sad because I think all the adventure of this summer has done a little bit of a fizzle job, and left me pretty bored, and back to my old days of making mixtapes and tinkering.

Some sad stuff happened just lately. Peter Jennings died, as well as Ibrahim Ferrer from the Buena Vista Social Club. Both are sad, but I didn't really know Peter Jennings, nor did I watch american news, so I don't think I will miss him. I did however listen to "The Buena Vista Social Club" and I am saddened.

I mostly vegetate at work, and drift in and out of sanity, so if you catch me after work, I may be a little strange.

Anyways, I'm off to watch some films.

The Ocean is where I live

A new Mixtape I created is finally here:

1 New star in the sky - Air
2 Pacific Theme - Broken Social Scene
3 Kid A - Radiohead
4 All is Full of Love - Bjork
5 Ghostwriter - RJD2
6 Open Sea Theme - Sven Libaek
7 Penelope - Pinback
8 Teach Me How to Fight - Junior Boys
9 Weird Divide - The Shins
10 Cause = Time - Broken Social Scene
11 Natural Anthem - The Postal Service

Mostly inspired by "'The Life Aquatic' with Steve Zissou", and my love for the ocean, I've been tinkering with this one for a while now. I'm also working on cover art, so check back.

Download the Torrent! You can download the torrent here, and I would love it if you seeded the file afterwards, since I know some of you don't give a crap about how much your Upload/download.

EDIT: The torrent is now hosted by ThePirateBay.org, please download the NEW link.

Hello Moto

Goodness gravy, after 4 straight hours of playing Resident Evil 4 tonight, we finally managed to get to the 2nd disk. It took a lot of patience to beat the disk ending boss, but we did it. It really wasn't so hard, just tedious, and really scary. This is possibly the best videogame I've ever played. Knights of the Old republic was pretty cool too, but I guess I kind of didn't play it end to end, I left it for a year, then came back to it. 24+ hours to that game, and only about 15 so far to RE4. Wow, I'm a bit of a nerd. Even as Kenny arrives home from a slight vacation, he has begun to notice that Me and Kent are much nerdier than before.

This slightly upsets me, because of a pretty girl I want to talk to. How can I interact with her if all I can think about are things like Zombies and Spanish plagues? I'll avoid her because I'm afraid she will maul/bite me! What ever will I do?

Ah, the bitter-sweet life of a blogger.....

Goodnight, JW, Bananatree

When hell is full, the dead will walk the earth

Resident Evil 4 is amazingly good. Spain is not the place you want to vacation at this time of year, apparently there is an outbreak of a plague that renders you into a puppet for a secret cult. How did Einars (who just returned from Spain) survive? Honestly though, the game is sweet, I really want to finish it.

I'm so pumped that my blog is back up and running. I was so bored, have to relate to people directly in real life instead of displaying my boring life out over the internet. Not enough people know about what I'm doing at certain times during the day. Like, take right now for instance, I'm watching "House of 1000 Corpses". See, now don't you feel better knowing that?

However, something that actually might matter: Right now me and some homeboys are writing some music for a band we are trying to assemble. If you like really dancing, rocking out and Emotional Hardcore with a lot of screaming, then I think you'll like us. We're writing some tunes and want to put on a show in either Lethbridge or Atown by the end of September.

Anyways, I'm out
Jaron =w=
