Wii the People

According to any tech blog on the net, I noticed that Nintendo has officially changed the name of the "Nintendo Revolution" to the "Nintendo Wii". Cnet is reporting that "The name--which is pronounced "we"--is meant to invoke a feeling of cooperation, and the double "i" is intended to visually conjure up the image of two people standing together" and it's having some mixed reviews around the internet from what I can tell.

For the most part, the reaction seems to hover between, "Nintendo are the biggest idiots in the world" and "I really don't give a shit, as long as it is the same console they promised us". Personally, I'm thinking that Nintendo has done some pretty interesting things in the past, and this is just another one. Do I think it's a great name? No, it seems weak at this point, and I don't really see the imagery. However, I don't like the name Google all that much, but I do realize it's a name that sticks in people's heads, and has become (almost) a household name.

I can't really speculate much more than that. Maybe it'll be awesome and be one of the best viral marketing campaigns in the gaming industry, maybe it'll spell doom for the Mario Brothers.

Last Test and Metal Fingers

I picked up the MF Doom Special Herbs Vol. 0-9, and I must say that it's a tasty number if I have ever heard one. Definitely a disk you throw in at a party and chillax to/dance. Since it's a compilation of a couple other disks, there's no point in really reviewing it, however the structure of the album was crafted nicely. Each song does a pretty good job at flowing together.

It's also my last test of the school year. Excited

Discovery

The title of this post has nothing to do with discovering something, but the sweet Daft Punk album. Which was turned in to an animated rock opera, which I think everyone should listen to/Watch.

420 was a pretty fun day. I studied for a few hours, wrote a film studies test on what I just studied. Film studies was a great course, not just because we simply watched movies, but learning about something at depth makes them better (in my opinion) and you also get to make remarks like "That was a sweet shot", and totally know what you are talking about. However, if your goal is to not become a film elitist, then the class is sweet because you simply watch movies.

After the exam, I played frisbee for a few hours, then spent the rest of the day having a good time. What a wonderful day!

Breakfast In Burma Pt. 2

My recent dive in to the art of photography, especially that of shooting models, has resparked my interest in the beautiful Bettie Page. Being a big fan of Suicide Girls.com, I of course see a lot of look a likes, but there is something about the original that just does it for me. Is it just me? (Well I know it's not just me, they are releasing that movie about her life, which should be really cool)

School is Done

I have one final project, and two exams and I am finally done the second year of university. It has been rather long, and a little hard, but I'm pretty impressed with what I have accomplished. I just got home from finishing my Photography project, which is a huge success in my opinion. I put exactly the amount of effort in to it that I thought it deserved, and got exactly what I wanted out of it. It's a little "Arsty Fartsy", but I love to stare at it. Thanks a million to Carolyn, whom I'm 100% sure has never read my blog, but I must say was extremely professional in terms of being a model.

That Fishapod thing they found is pretty exciting news. Fishapod is apparently our oldest land living ancestor, who rocked the land, just as much as he did the water. Making him/her a pretty versatile being for so many millions of years ago.

I got pretty amped for the new Flaming Lips album, but realized that it'd be pretty spectacular if they could match what they did with Soft Bulletin, and Yoshimi. So really, I was being greedy. If anyone is on the fence, I'd say pick it up, since it's cheap and you probably will like it. Not a must have, but blending all the coolness from Soft and Yoshimi, with the fun punk/grunge thing they were doing with "The Satellite Heart" makes it a pretty solid disc for a lips fan.

To end things off, I must say that "Last Class Bash" and everything around it is going to be awesome. {BananaTree}

Zombie Apocalypse

So on Monday night, we thought it would be the "Zombie Apocalypse", being that at 1:02:03 04/05/06 it would line up nicely. For some reason Me and my roomies decided to get really drunk, and raise hell to celebrate this day. Sadly, that was not that night, we totally messed it up. I guess technically it was last night, but that would be Month/Day/Year, when I always think about it being "Day/Month/Year". Hmm, it was a great time anyways, and I ended up falling asleep face down on the floor.

The new Flaming Lips album came out yesterday and I have wanted to listen to it REAL bad. Sadly, I fell asleep last night before I got a chance. POO
