Sunday, May 28, 2006In tha HoodWe are watching "Leprechaun: In Tha Hood". This is probably the best movie I have seen about a small mythical creature that goes on a murderous rampage to regain his precious and magical gold. Also I must say that this movie has to flowest jams, fattest beats, and hottest rhymes out of All the Leprechaun movies that I have seen. Warwick Davis is the only real thing that saves this movie from complete ruin. That being said, this movie is still a ruin, just not a complete one. In real news, there is a really exciting movement in Fiji called "Tribewanted" (Via BoingBoing). Apparently by paying a fee, you earn the right to live for a few weeks as a tribes person, building a community. This is rather cool, since rather than corporate interests taking over and building polluting hotels, people are making a community that is eco-friendly to save the island. Personally, this is right up my alley, I loved "The Beach" and I really want to be an adventurer. Banana Boy!!!I just stumbled upon an Internet treasure that I am extremely happy to share with all of you fine people of the internet.
The audio files are all in .Ram format, so I've cooked up some Mp3s so you can throw all the tracks on your "Personal Music Player", or just to listen to if you don't have Real Player. I don't own the music from the webpage, and am distributing the music files to inform (using low-quality mp3s). This being said, please purchase Banana Boy's merch/recordings once they become available Please enjoy Banana Boy! (link to zip file) Laterchaun, Jaron(Link) If you feel like it, please make a torrent of this file, so my server doesn't get slammed too hard. Wednesday, May 24, 2006FriendshipI won a Haiku Nothing much else to say, other than THIS (via Boing Boing) is one of the cooler things I have seen on the internet. It never stops! Although there is a picture of a woman's ass, that doesn't load correctly. Later homies, J Friday, May 19, 2006FeaturesOne of the fun things about having a plain Blogger blog is that they add a nice little bar at the top for value added features. I was at another blog, one that I will mention a bit in the future, and hit the "Next Blog" button. Here is what I Found. Looks like a strange type of school project, for fourth graders. Here is the other one I was talking about. Captain Jean Luc Picard's Blog is probably some of the better writing I have seen on the internet. The "laundry breakdown" post is very comical to me, since in High School I watched a lot of Star Trek the Next Generation due to there being nothing else on TV during the day time. It was mostly just me being a lazy bastard during the summer, in that stage after waking up, but before getting dressed. Ah, those were the days. ~Jw Wednesday, May 17, 2006ArtI had to do a potrait assignment in my Photo class, so this is what I came up with. I really should have taken some pictures of them on the wall, however everything was moving so fast... whatevers. Hope you atleast sorta enjoy them. Monday, May 15, 2006Oh GollyThis happens to be the only thing about medicine that makes me agree with Scientologists. The fact that Paxil, while it seems to help a lot of people, also makes enough people want to kill themselves that they had to issue a warning. Jeff Rowland's character Weedmaster P has a better idea that I fully agree with. Friday, May 12, 2006Maraca Sales up 94%Joel Plaskett played the tongue and Groove in Lethbridge and I was extremely pleased with Joel Plaskett's performance, but not so much with the TnG it's self. Sadly, more antics that tarnish the name of the Lethbridge music "scene" ensued, and it was unfortunate. Capacity crowds filed in to see Mr. Plaskett, and with just cause. He tore down the entire stage, then rebuilt it as a mighty idol to the god of rock music. However, capacity meant one bad thing: Turning people away. This really wouldn't have been so bad if both of the following things hadn't been done. A: Locking the doors so no more people could get it. There were too many people in the club in the first place, and an emergency (not the Joel Plaskett kind) would have ended in ruins Had the show been truly first come first serve, rather than "first come first serve, then whoever I choose after that" some REAL Joel Plaskett fans wouldn't have been literally left out in the cold. Sorry if that is really ranty, there have just been enough antics at this club that everyone is mumbling about how much better we all could do, if we could all pitch some money and start our own club. Monday, May 08, 2006The race is not to him who hulas fastest, it's to him who looks hottest doing itThe title is a line from TIME magazine's article on the Nintendo Wii. I must say that I have never been excited for a console game system, I bought an Xbox and a Gamecube, but without a ton of talk before or after. Both have served me well, and I don't mind spending a lot of money on them, but I am very excited for the Wii. I think it is mostly due to the rumour that there should be several different consoles emulated on the machine. A machine that emulated NES and SNES is a good enough box for me, but I am hearing that there will be other consoles too, like N64, Gamecube, Turbgrafx 16, and SEGA Genesis. Genesis and SNES on the same console? Let's hope I can handle myself in a manner that's a little more mature than "idiot school girl". Friday, May 05, 200624 Hour Party PeopleI got a new pair of shoes, due to the fact that my other shoes fell apart, and I could not be happier. Grey and White Checkered Vans are my awesome new shoes. For some reason, I think it is necessary to have a normal pair of shoes, and a pair of slip on shoes. I think it's pretty good planning, people get annoyed with me if I am constantly tying my shoes when they need to go somewhere quickly. Summer is really sweet so far, making money and not having to worry about tests and homework. If anyone from some place other than Lethbridge wants to come down and party, please feel free to email me, and we'll have an awesome time. 400% guarantee. Oh yes, this webpage is interesting to read up on. Moveon.org AT&T and Comcast seem to think that they deserve a cut of the money that internet companies make, since without the providers, the content is undeliverable. Fine and dandy, however this would make monopolies on what has been completely free since day one. Yahoo could outbid Google for how fast they load, or Yahoo could pay a big content provider to restrict access to certain webpages. Is that the kind of internet you want? |
