Thursday, June 29, 2006Cheap Disposable PensI've been getting a lot of hits, and I hope the new visitors are taking some time to peek around. I welcome you! Keep not using Internet Explorer, for one of the first times there are more hits from alternate browsers like Safari and Firefox. Since I am leaving for my sister's grad, I have a picture for you guys to look at. I make various drawings at work when I am bored, and I like this one the best. ![]() Click for hi-rez I might get too busy and forget to wish everyone a Happy Canada Day, but I will be making rad holiday pay, so I apologize. Tuesday, June 27, 2006Boing Boing'dThere was a good blog post about a Comcast employee that got caught sleeping on someone's couch, and how he got fired. I added a little comment about another story or two that I heard about other funny Comcast stories. Here is the link They linked back to here and I've got like 140 extra hits since then. I wish I didn't get kicked out of Google Adsense for clicking my own links. Poop. Tuesday, June 20, 2006Last Night I had the Strangest DreamLast night I went to Humpty's with a band called "Better Friends Than Lovers". It was a very grand time, and I must admit that I enjoyed having them for company, however I did miss the show, so I feel bad about that. I also feel bad about being really sick, since being sick means missing work, which means loss in money. Money is not the real concern in this case, a small amount of money lost is worth good health. I work with too many people to be spreading such illnesses around the office. I may have discovered that I usually only get sick when I wake up too early, while my body is attempting to repair itself. I woke up the other day, and KNEW I would get sick. Now I am, at least I have a sweet haircut, and some medicine (tea, and tea), and someone to take care of me. Since I do musical things in real life, and never blog about them (even though my site is called "Lifebystereo") , let me recap a few things: Another thing: The Raconteurs CD is pretty good. It's rock and roll, not "At it's finest" but it is a solid disc to listen to. If you like the White Stripes you will no doubt like this CD. Local band Atrophy Manuscript put out an album that is really good. They are very tight live, and did a good job of translating their stage show in to a full length album. Finally, there should be a really good show on the 3rd of August somewhere in Lethbridge. There is no confirmed date, but expect updates very soon. It's going to be gangbusters! Saturday, June 17, 2006Quick UpdateI've been watching football, and working. Pretty much nothing else sadly, however I have been attempting to put some music together for a really cool show that Martine is going to put on. We don't have a venue yet, but I think we can get one pretty soon. I'm excited. This week Atrophy Manuscript put out a full length album, and it is pretty excellent. If you aren't from Lethbridge you may not know that AM is probably one of the more successful/popular rock bands in Lethbridge. In other news, Scarlett Letters is playing at Tomy G's Pub on the Northside of Lethbridge. The guitarist Kent Aardse will be wearing a shirt I designed! Thanks, JaronW Saturday, June 10, 2006Football FeverOk, I really do have it. I was even late for work today. Boo Hoo for a multi-national corporation. The FIFA World Cup went off with out a hitch, and will be going on for the next couple of weeks. I have yet to catch an actual match, which kind of sucks, but I can't really be bothered to wake up super early in the morning just to catch a few prelims of non-favourite teams. I'm backing the Dutch and the Japanese this year, and if they get knocked out early, I will be backing the underdogs till the end. It really is too bad that Canada's national team doesn't do that great in international play. However they seem to do so-so in terms of North/Central/Caribbean American play. It just does not make sense that so many people seem to play football for fun, but we just do not produce talent like other countries. One Day friends.... One day. Sunday, June 04, 2006PornableI think my last post had too much typing, and some people also hate clicking links. So maybe it was as funny as I thought it'd be, or maybe I was just far too inebriated to be blogging again (and it wasn't). A funny thing about blogging is that you are usually your own publisher. No one can stop you from making a gigantic fool of yourself, like I have probably done more than once. I think that is why I find that Banana Boy web-site so funny. Apparently a Father has recording equipment, a lot of time on his hands, a webserver and a lot of love for his son. Technically, that's all the guy needs to cut an album. Look at me, I've got a website, my own URL too, does the URL make me more credible? I hope there is no amount of pressure put on me regarding my responsibility as a journalist. I do want to point out that I am having troubles understanding This "News" Story Via Kotaku/Penny-Arcade. |
